Commonhand connects your project with people and businesses that have the skills, equipment, and experience to bring it to life.
Start with what you want. Commonhand helps organize the project and get it in front of providers with relevant capabilities.
Describe the project naturally. Add a photo, sketch, measurement, or file if you have one.
Review providers, their experience, capabilities, past work, questions, and proposals.
Work out the project details, agree on the scope and terms, and move forward with the provider you choose.
Commonhand is designed to give you useful information before you choose a provider and to keep the important project details organized once you begin.
Create an account so you can post projects, save providers, keep questions and proposals together, and come back to everything later.
Only the basics for now. You can fill in more later if a project needs it.
Continue to your projects, conversations, and saved providers.
Next we'll take you into your customer account, where you can start a project or explore first.
What are you looking to get made?
You don’t need to know the process or which trade handles it. Start with what you want and we’ll help you get moving.
You can start a project even if all you have is a picture, rough drawing, or example of what you’re thinking.
Look through project types and provider capabilities before you post anything.
Send the idea to Commonhand first. You and Commonhand can talk it through here before any business sees it.
When you post your first project, proposals, messages, progress, files, and payments will stay organized here.
Manage money across all of your Commonhand projects in one place.

Questions and decisions stay connected to the job they belong to.
Commonhand shows what you earned and what is pending. Stripe handles the actual payment and payout movement underneath.
Reviews are tied to completed Commonhand projects so customers can tell the difference between verified work and general profile claims.
The locker came out great. Communication was easy, the updates were helpful, and the finished product matched what we agreed on. The lighting and black trim especially came out clean.
Thanks, Customer. This was a fun one to build. Glad the lighting and trim landed the way you wanted.
The shelves fit perfectly and the finish is exactly what I wanted. I appreciated being able to see progress without having to keep asking for updates.
The final wall looks excellent. Installation had to move by one day, but the team communicated it early and handled everything professionally.
They took my rough sketch and turned it into something that looks better than what I had pictured. Solid build, nice finish, and no surprises with price.
Appreciate it, Mike. Thanks for trusting us with the design details.
This information powers matching. Customers don’t need to understand your equipment — Commonhand does.
Customers will see your logo, business name, about section, portfolio, capabilities, verification, ratings, and the kinds of work you do.
Square logos work best.
Upload finished jobs, shop photos, close-up details, before/after work, or anything that helps customers understand your quality and style.
Pick broad categories first, then choose the specific work you want matched to. You can belong to multiple categories and add more anytime.
Commonhand only shows material choices that belong to the categories on your business profile. Categories such as CAD, Food, and Floral / Party do not need material selections.
Equipment is separate from capabilities. A Cricut is equipment; vinyl cutting is the capability. A laser engraver is equipment; laser engraving and laser cutting are capabilities.
This is what keeps unprepared production jobs away from businesses that don’t want design work.
For local work, Commonhand uses your ZIP code and service radius — never a street address. Shipping and digital work are not limited by this radius.
Commonhand can email you as soon as a new project is matched to your business. You will still receive the normal in-app notification either way.

The customer has final artwork, dimensions, material preference, and reference images. You can still ask normal fabrication questions before quoting.
Ask before you commit to a price. The customer can reply here and the conversation stays attached to the project.

Commonhand helps figure out the process, routes the request to the right providers, and lets them come to you.

Plain language, photos, sketches, or files.
Material, stage, size, and priorities narrow down who should see it.
Compare price, profile, portfolio, safety badges, and revision policy.
You still start by telling Commonhand what you want. This is simply an example of how a more involved project could be organized once the right people understand what the job needs.
