Commonhand Terms of Use
1. Eligibility and accounts
You must be legally able to enter into a binding agreement to use Commonhand. You are responsible for accurate account information, protecting your login credentials, and activity performed through your account.
2. Customers and providers
Customers are responsible for describing projects accurately and reviewing provider proposals before accepting them. Providers are independent businesses or individuals responsible for their own pricing, scope, workmanship, licenses, permits, insurance, taxes, safety practices, delivery obligations, and compliance with applicable law.
3. Project agreements
A proposal accepted through Commonhand may form the project agreement between the customer and provider. Users should review price, scope, revisions, timing, delivery, cancellation terms, and other material terms before accepting.
4. Payments and Stripe
Payment processing and connected-account services are provided by Stripe. Commonhand does not store full card numbers or business bank credentials. Payment availability, identity verification, payout timing, disputes, and processor requirements may be subject to Stripe’s terms and policies. Commonhand may record marketplace payment status, fees, refunds, and related references so the project can be administered.
5. Fees
Any Commonhand marketplace or service fee will be presented through the applicable project or checkout flow. Fees may vary by transaction or marketplace program. Users are responsible for reviewing the amount shown before payment or acceptance.
6. Refunds, cancellations, and disputes
Refunds and cancellations depend on the project status, provider/customer agreement, amounts already paid, work already performed, applicable law, and payment-processor rules. Commonhand may provide tools to request or administer refunds and disputes but does not guarantee a particular outcome.
7. Prohibited use
You may not use Commonhand for illegal, fraudulent, abusive, dangerous, or prohibited transactions. Prohibited activity includes the categories listed in Commonhand’s Trust & Safety rules, including firearms and ammunition, illegal weapons, alcohol, tobacco/nicotine, illegal drugs or controlled substances, trafficking or sale of people, stolen or counterfeit goods, and unlawful hazardous materials or services.
8. User content and intellectual property
You retain ownership of project descriptions, images, files, designs, portfolio work, and other content you lawfully own. You grant Commonhand permission to host, process, display, and transmit that content as reasonably necessary to operate the marketplace. You must have the right to upload and share the content you provide.
9. Marketplace integrity
Commonhand may investigate suspected fraud, abuse, prohibited activity, account misuse, or safety concerns and may restrict, suspend, or terminate accounts or listings when reasonably necessary to protect users, the marketplace, or comply with law.
10. No guarantee of provider work
Commonhand may help qualify or match providers, but does not guarantee a provider’s workmanship, availability, legal compliance, delivery, or fitness for a particular project. Users should make their own decision about whom to hire or work with.
11. Service availability
Commonhand may change, suspend, or discontinue features and cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. Users should keep copies of important project files and records.
12. Limitation and applicable law
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Commonhand is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising from independent-provider work, user conduct, or third-party services. Rights that cannot legally be waived remain unaffected.
13. Changes to these Terms
Commonhand may update these Terms as the platform develops. Material changes may be presented through the site or account experience. Continued use after an effective update constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
14. Contact
